Hi there, I'm Kristin Jackson, a certified Clinical Somatic Educator and Holistic Fitness Specialist. 

If you're like me you've had your fair share of injuries and accidents. You get by but you don't function as well as you use to. And you feel it.

For me my body finally revolted when I was hit by a car while riding my bike. The things I took for granted-- walking, working out, gardening--just plain hurt. I tried what you probably try; massage, physical therapy, chiropractic, etc. but nothing lasted, some made things worse.

Then I discovered Somatics! The immediate and long term results --I know it sounds cliche--changed my life. So now I share the gift of Somatics with folks all around the world.

Is Somatics for me?

Somatics can help every body! Somatics can help those in pain to athletes wanting to enhance their game. No matter your age, gender, shape or size, Somatics can help you. Somatics classes are not exercise classes. They are classes to enhance your brain's sensory-motor awareness of yourself via gentle, slow movement.
​Information shared in the lessons  is not meant to replace or negate medical advice. Talk with your health care providers about Somatics. We encourage you to make your own health care decisions based upon your own research and in partnership with your health professionals.

Which Plan is best for me?

Level 3 is truly the primo plan! In addition to recordings, your membership includes access to the Think Somatics Online Studio. Attend live classes with Kristin!  Live classes  include Somatics, Proactive Postural Restructuring classes and E-courses offered throughout the year. Folks love this plan because it's a screaming deal and gives them access to talk directly with Kristin in Zoom classes. She's created this plan because no matter how good our intentions may be, having some accountability increases your success by 65-95%* :-)

Level 2 is for those who want lots of variety of recordings to keep their practice fresh and varied, so the brain is constantly learning new things! There's a ton of fabulous lessons to enjoy in this plan. Practice whenever and where ever you are, as often as you like.

Level 1 is perfect for those who like to keep things simple, with a bit of timely motivation. Each calendar month Level 1 members get a curated batch of lessons to enjoy. Practice those, then get a whole new set next month. 

Where should I start?

If you are brand new to Somatics be sure to do the Somatics 101 course, which is included with each membership plan.

It would do you well to schedule a personal online session with Kristin. She can help you with your specific issues and goals, so you get the most out of your membership plan.

Pick a membership plan that works best for you!
Level 1 is is perfect for those who are motivated by deadlines. Each month you get a new curated collection of recordings that replaces the previous month's collection.
Level 2 is for you if you are self directed and like to practice Somatics on your own schedule. And like a lot of variety.
Students of Level 3 love attending the regularly scheduled Zoom classes. They also love the classes and recordings that go beyond Somatics. As a holistic health and fitness trainer, Kristin blends her background in Pilates, Proactive Postural Restructuring, Behavioral Change Coaching and more into live classes and e-courses. If you purchased drop-in classes, e-courses and recordings separately, you'd expect to pay hundreds of dollars a month, so obviously this plan is a screaming deal. :-)

Are the lesson recordings streaming on demand or downloadable?

​All the recordings are streaming on demand. No downloading or storage space required! All you need is WiFi and your device of choice.

How do I access the Live Zoom classes with Kristin?

Live Zoom classes are included in Level 3 Plan only. Once you are enrolled, you'll need to register for the classes you want to attend. Look for the product labeled "SIGN UP FOR ZOOM CLASSES HERE" to register. 

I think of myself as a "visual learner." I'm wondering how the audio recordings will work for me.

​Fitness classes are fast paced so you want to watch the instructor to keep up. Somatics classes are sooooo different. Kristin will guide through your lessons, slowly and with detailed cuing and direction.
 
 And you know what?  Students in the live classes generally do the lessons with their eyes closed.

Can I do Somatics on my bed or couch?

Somatics is best done on a lightly cushioned, firm surface, like a rug, carpet, blankets or an exercise/yoga mat.
 
If you decide to do a class from a bed, please do the moves very gently, slowly and avoid making large, exaggerated motions.

Please avoid doing Somatics on a couch or other furniture.
 
Over time you should find you can get to the floor. Kristin has clients well into their 80s who can, and you can too!

Can I share my membership with a friend?

Nope. One membership per household, please. Thank you!

Are the monthly fees based on calendar months or from date of activation?

Your monthly membership starts the day you enroll and renews each month on the same date. If you choose an annual membership, the same applies. 

Can I cancel my membership at any time? How do I cancel it?

Yes, you can cancel your account at any time.
To cancel your account,
  • log in to your account 
  • at the top the page
  • go to Billing tab
  • click on the button that says cancel subscription. 
Your account will terminate at the last day of your current billing cycle (at the end of the month or the year, depending on your original purchase.) There are no prorated refunds. 

Can I change my membership plan? How do I do that?

Yes, you can switch plans at any time.
To switch your plan,
  • log in to your account 
  • go to your settings at the top of the page (look for your initials or avatar)
  • go to Billing tab
  • click on the button that says "change your community plan". 
You can do this in the middle of your monthly or annual subscription. The software will adjust your subscription payment. It will either prorate or charge the difference at the next billling cycle.
Note: It is not possible to change between monthly and annual options for the same membership plan at the moment. If you’d like to do this, you need to cancel your subscription and re-subscribe again to the correct plan. Cancellations terminate your account immediately and no pro-rated or refunds apply. 

How do I apply a coupon code for my membership?

If you have a coupon code, you'll need to apply it in the sign up stage of enrollment. If you miss this step you will be charged the regular rate for the first month and have to cancel your membership and re-enroll. You don't want that to happen, right?! So take a look here for directions.
  • Pick your plan 
  • Click continue
  • Click on the Have a Coupon? (see below)
  • Enter the coupon code
  • Click the apply button
  • Make sure the discounted amount shows up
  • Then enter your credit card info 
  • click the Pay. . . button
  • Voila! you are a member!

Will my membership automatically renew?

Yes, per industry standards, your membership will automatically renew each month or year depending on the plan option you choose. If you want to cancel your membership, please cancel it at least 24 hours before your renewal date. You will have access through the last day of your billing cycle. Failure to do so will result in another billing cycle. There are no refunds or protated refunds.

What are the terms of my membership?

Your Think Somatics Community Plan is billed monthly or annually, depending on your original sign up, using the credit card information you provide at enrollment. You can cancel at any time. ​Cancellations take effect the last day of your billing cycle and are not prorated. This means you can cancel any time, and still have access to the plan through the end of your billing cycle. 
Each membership plan is for a single person/household. Please don't share your membership with others. Information given within the Think Somatics Online Community may not be redistributed in any format without written permission. For more information please review the Terms of Service at the bottom of this page. 

Do I need any special equipment when I do the lessons?

Ultimately the only things you need for Somatics is your brain, body, and a quiet space and time.
That said, here is some additional information.
SOMATICS CLASSES
Somatics classes are most often done lying on the floor, so you might want a mat, blanket or rug.
You might want a pillow for your head, during side-lying movements.
If you need any additional props to make yourself comfortable, by all means use them.
​Some classes are done standing and seated.
If we do a seated class, a chair or stool with a flat seat and no arms are best.
If there is any special equipment needed for a course, it will listed in your course information.
PROACTIVE POSTURAL RESTRUCTURING CLASSES
PPR classes are done sitting on a chair, sitting on the floor and lying on the floor. You can also do the lessons with your back or legs against the wall. (PPR classes are included in Level 3 Plan only.)
SOMA FIT
These classes may incorporate fitness gear, such as exercise balls, hand weights, exercise tubing, gliding discs, etc. Most items are easily acquired at your local sporting goods store, big box or online. Any needed equipment will be listed with the course description prior to start of class. (SOMA FIT classes are included in Level 3 Plan only.)

How long are the lessons?

Generally live Zoom classes and recordings are between 45-60 minutes long. E-courses may include more than one lesson recording.
The Level 3 Plan includes a Mini Somatics Lessons. These lessons average 5 to 30 minutes long.

What days and times are the Live Zoom classes?

The Live Zoom classes are only included in the Level 3 Plan.

Can I get a refund?

No. There are no refunds on digital materials or memberships. Failure to cancel your account does not result in a refund. In the rare case when a refund is issued, the refund amount is  10% less of full refund. This is due to credit card processing fees. 

I think I need some personalized attention for my condition and situation. . .

Somatics is the Missing Link to Pain Relief

Somatics is the missing link to pain relief.  Think about this: Why are humans the only species on the planet that take their bodies to other people to "fix' them?

Once people learn the secret of Somatics, it makes perfect sense and becomes the ultimate solution to chronic pain.

Somatics puts you in charge of self-soothing and self-regulating your responses to stress and pain.

See, the brain controls how the whole system--that system which is you and your body--including how your muscles contract and release.

But when we experience injuries, stressors, accidents, repetitive activities, our brains learn how to contract muscles over and over, without releasing them to their true resting length.

The result is Sensory Motor Amnesia. The sensory motor cortex has lost clear neurological control of how your body functions, resulting in tension patterns that cause pain and "aging". (its not your age, it's your brain! :-)

Luckily we are blessed with amazing nervous systems that want to find peace and equilibrium. And we have brains that are "plastic" meaning they can change at any age.

So how do you change your brain to change your body?  By doing gentle somatic movements called pandiculations.  You learn to sense where your tension patterns are, release your muscles to their natural resting length, and reclaim your freedom of movement and joy for life!

Somatics works because it's addressing the root of all movement and functioning: the brain!

Kristin has worked with clients after stroke, with scoliosis, torn meniscus, chronic hip and back pain, frozen shoulder, pelvic floor disorders. The list goes on. When they quickly learn how to take back control of their bodies, so many ask, "Why don't more people know about Somatics?!"

Why? Because it's such a paradigm shift to go from taking our bodies to someone else, to being able to self sense and self correct, just by being more aware of how we use our bodies and laying down new neural pathways between the brain and body. But the time has come. The world is in such need for Somatic Education.
